The fiberglass reinforcement roving is saturated with a liquid resin.Winding is continued at predetermined angles and tension on the roving to achieve specific mechanical properties. The strength of the pipe is determined by the amount and orientation of the material wrapped on the mandrel.Composite materials – Interior C – Glass surface mat, Chopped fiberglass, polyester resin and inert sand (for GRP-sewer and low head pressure pipe) – are all applied simultaneously to a moving mandrel, which carries pipe through the curing oven, the result is a laminate of very uniform composition with regards to both relative amount of materials and their location in the pipe wall.Potable Water GRP Pipes
